The essence of the term Svadhyaya in terms of Yoga doesn't just involve one's motives & behaviours but also takes into consideration the circumstances & environment one is in. Budding from the words; Sva, meaning self, and Adhyaya, meaning lesson or lecture, the terminology when brought together, goes way beyond just understanding oneself while performing Yoga. It has the potential to deepen our self-reflection in order to draw your mind inwards. The aim is to start your inward journey by understanding your mind, body and breath by inculcating a sense of awareness. Just some time on your mat can be a truly humbling experience as you are faced with the reality of yourself.
Tune into yourself to gain a deeper insight into all the complexities that exist within you in order to connect with your truest divine self.
Teaching Yoga came almost naturally to me. After three years in the corporate world, I was left drained & yearning for something more meaningful - this is when "Svadhyaya" was born. For almost a decade I have witnessed the countless, life-changing benefits which practicing Yoga can bring to one's life.
From a young age to my tenure as a Business Development Executive, I have used the ancient teachings and techniques to center myself on a daily basis. My constant fascination with the body's intelligence and my love for holistic living drew me to a Yoga Teacher's Training Program in 2020 as well as a specialization in Pre & Post Natal Yoga. I have been able to develop simple & effective techniques that my clients can adopt to overcome the impact of high levels of stress and what positive impact a sedentary lifestyle can have on the body.
My clients are better equipped to manage issues such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, blood pressure fluctuations, backaches, migraines, anxiety, poor sleeping patterns, and numerous other lifestyle disorders that sneak up on us while we are glued to our desks for countless hours throughout the day. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and with the onset of the culture of working from home, it is more important than ever to be mindful of our bodies.
